With a simple press of the dial, you can switch modes instead of just adjusting brightness, and the built-in volume wheel makes it easy to lower loud video sounds or crank up the volume for a colleague who’s too far from their mic.
The magnetic wrist rest makes a huge difference, offering essential support during during what are often long sessions of writing (or in my case, thinking about writing, then writing…….then re-writing) – especially when I get lost in prepping a TTRPG session into the early hours.
The keyboard is in the main marketed at gamers – however, I found it equally effective for work based options. The extra programmable keys are a boost, and although the 5-key macro bank may not compare to others on the market, it covers all my particular creative needs—including a rather nice numpad…..all of which was employed to produce this particular masterpiece of a review!
The enhanced design incorporates several new elements, including three extra macro buttons discreetly positioned along the left edge, as well as a USB-A passthrough port and two USB-C ports—one for powering the keyboard and the other for extra connectivity. On the downside, the keyboard is slightly heavier than some of its full-size counterparts, due in no small measure to its aluminium alloy casing, and it does take up considerable desk space. After some time of using lesser-sized boards, there was some element of time needed to adjust to the difference. For some users where space may be at a premium (such as this here person) , then this could be a factor.
Another feature that may annoy some is the fact that there is no wireless option, so it’s a case of a return to cable-hiding management. Hey, the 1990’s are on the phone and want their cables back!

A Few Drawbacks
The only negative in my view is the auto-focus feature, which can be a little temperamental, a feature in my experience not uncommon with many webcams. I found turning off the auto-focus and utilising the manual focus slider in the software helped, especially if you have a dedicated spot for streaming or working as I do in my beloved Attic Nerd Lair. A video featuring my nerd lair will soon come…..er, once the builders have fixed the small matter of a leaky roof!
