Meeting Your Heroes

One of the things I love most about Comic Con events is the chance to meet some of my particular acting obsessions from the world of movies, TV, and comics. Now I realise that that sentence may sound a lot creepier than intended, let me assure you that there no current retraining orders in place. In terms of guest appearances, this year’s lineup at Comic Con Scotland Aberdeen does not disappoint. For a full selection of the current confirmed attendees and ticket info then check out the main website RIGHT HERE.
However, there are two guests in particular that this here geek is more than a little excited to see;

Karen Gillian: That’s right, folks! The talented and charismatic Karen Gillian, known for her roles in “Doctor Who” and the “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise, will be gracing us with her presence. Get ready to geek out and maybe even snag an autograph or a selfie with this Scottish superstar. As a bone fide ‘Guardians’ obsessive this is a genuine treat.

Bernard Hill: For those who know me well (and for that I cannot apologise enough) it will come as no surprise that since the age of 9 I have been well no truly lost in the world of Middle Earth and shamelessly devouring all of Tolkien’s works. I adored and loved the films (yes, even the often maligned Hobbit trilogy), so I was a little bit giddy when it was announced that Bernard Hill, who portrayed the noble King Theoden in the iconic film trilogy, will also be in attendance. Get your swords and shields ready for some epic photo ops with this legendary actor……. Don’t go all Lord of the Rings fanboy, Stuart, be strong.

Exciting Panels and Workshops

But wait, there’s more! Comic Con Scotland Aberdeen is not just about celebrity sightings. It’s also a hub of creativity and inspiration, with a lineup of panels and workshops that are sure to pique your interest.

Celebrity Panels: Ever wanted to hear Karen Gillian share behind-the-scenes stories from her time on “Doctor Who”? Or perhaps you’re curious to hear Bernard Hill’s insights into bringing Middle-earth to life on the big screen. Whatever your fandom, there’s bound to be a panel that will leave you feeling inspired and entertained.
Events: Comic Con Scotland Aberdeen has got you covered with a variety of events such as the classic video gaming zone and also the wrestle zone. And don’t forget the Cosplay!

The Vendor Hall: A Shopper’s Paradise

Of course, no Comic Con experience would be complete without a stroll through the vendor hall, where you’ll find a treasure trove of comics, collectibles, artwork, and more. Whether you’re hunting for rare comic books, searching for the perfect addition to your Funko Pop collection, or simply browsing for some unique finds, the vendor hall is sure to have something for everyone. I know that I’m at the Comic Con in a press person type thing capacity…… but I’m determined to fill my bag with a few purchased Warhammer 40K and Table Top Roleplaying Game goodies.
