Delta Green Operation Report: Operation Alice – Session 9 & a return to the Night Floors

DELTA GREEN OPERATIONS BRIEFING
CLASSIFIED – FOR CERTAIN EYES ONLY

Operation Code: NIGHT FLOORS INCIDENT REPORT
Subject: Field Report

SUMMARY TIMELINE OF EVENTS:

19:00 Hours:
After viewing a painting purchased by Officer Thomas Wright from the Mercury Art Gallery, it becomes clear that Wright has been compromised, just as the Agents have been. Wright unknowingly repeats the phrase, “Tell me, have you seen the Yellow Sign?” Agents confirm amongst themselves that he is showing signs of mental deterioration and now requires constant surveillance.

19:30 Hours:
Agents return to the Macallister Building. Charcoal drawings by Louis Post have altered significantly since their last viewing. They now depict Asa Daribondi’s heinous crimes in the Hotel Broadalbin’s “Drowning Room,” showing gruesome acts in horrifying detail.

20:00 Hours:
Inside Abigail Wright’s apartment, Officer Thomas Wright confesses to visiting her apartment after her disappearance. He describes a “shrine” of random objects found in the apartment, a situation he reported to the NYPD. Agents recall his prior statements about Abigail’s disappearance and interviews conducted during June of 1995.

20:30 Hours:
Agents attempt to re-enter Michelle VanFitz’s apartment. They immediately notice her body is missing from where it had been hidden in the kitchen. Though there are no obvious signs of disturbance, the Agents sense that someone has carefully rearranged the scene to give the impression that nothing is amiss.

Officer Wright discovers a photograph from The Devil’s Draughtsman book. The image is of Abigail Wright, captioned: “The face of 1921 – The Debutant season gets in full swing with the 1st Masquerade Ball taking place at the Broadalbin.”

21:00 Hours:
In the Smoking Room, Agent Murdoch discovers framed photographs of various figures, including A. Daribondi, R.R. Robert, and H. Lundine, alongside a strange red bottle labeled with the name “Murdoch.” Sanity issues arise among the Agents, particularly Agent Murdoch (codename “Kurtz”).

21:30 Hours:
The tinkling of a music box leads the team to the Clockwork Child, a small brass automaton. The child’s chest emits a haunting dirge, and it delivers a vellum invitation addressed to Ian Frederick Decraig, Prisoner 125101:
JOIN US AT THE PALACE. A MASQUERADE TO CELEBRATE THE NEW KING. COME TO DINE. COME TO DANCE. COME.

Agent Marvin recalls from his previous research that Ian F. Decraig was a notorious figure from the early 20th century, founder of the Brotherhood of Doors. Rumours suggest that Decraig sponsored an unnamed Chicago architect who may be connected to current events.

21:45 Hours:
The Agents’ deteriorating mental state worsens as they encounter a group of hospital patients wandering aimlessly in the Night Floors. The patients, dressed in hospital gowns, are unresponsive to verbal prompts and include individuals with identifying wristbands:

• Ed Miler Wist (29)
• Timothy Bael (31)
• Dorothy Yale (elderly female)
• John Pailotte (tall, thin male)
• Rudolph Valater (middle-aged male)

Agent Militia identifies Timothy Bael as more hostile than the others. Bael attacks, wielding a concealed scalpel. In the ensuing confrontation, the Agents neutralize Bael.

22:15 Hours:
Further exploration of the Night Floors leads the Agents to a room filled with an odd smell resembling baked goods. The air is damp, and splashes of liquid hint at something sinister.

22:30 Hours:
Agents encounter David Langford, a man they had previously rescued, standing in the hallway with a terrified nurse, Esther Samigina, held hostage. Langford’s appearance is disheveled, and he bears clear signs of recent violence. Linseed oil, likely from the Macallister basement, permeates the air. At Langford’s feet are three empty 25-liter pails, and in his hand, a lit Molotov cocktail.

Langford is enraged, displaying clear signs of mental fracture. The situation is precarious, with the threat of explosive violence hanging over the group.

CURRENT SITUATION:
Agents are on the verge of breaking down, with issues of sanity and corruption escalating rapidly. The presence of The Yellow Sign and The King in Yellow is now palpable, and Officer Thomas Wright’s involvement has compounded the risk. All agents are advised to maintain constant vigilance, as this situation may involve a significant existential threat.

DIRECTIVES:

2. Neutralize Hostile Entities: Any manifestations within the Night Floors must be eliminated with extreme prejudice.
3. Preserve Operational Secrecy: Ensure all actions taken within the Macallister Building are kept classified, especially concerning unauthorized personnel like Officer Wright.
