Frustration with Louis Post:
Timestamp: 1630 Hours
Agents grow frustrated with tenant Louis Post’s seemingly normal but illogical responses. Agent Murdoch is dissuaded by his colleagues from using force to extract truthful responses despite believing that Post is being genuine in his beliefs.
Engagement with Michelle Vanfitz:
The agents cross the hallway to speak with tenant Michelle Vanfitz. As they are about to knock, she opens the door, clearly on her way out. Confrontational and evasive, she immediately launches into a tirade against the agents, calling them “fascist patriarchal pigs.” Agent Militia, although tempted to respond violently, is restrained by his colleagues.
The Radio:
Timestamp: 1700 Hours
After Vanfitz leaves, the agents decide to break into her apartment. While waiting in the lobby, they hear a short burst of radio communication from Abigail’s room. Upon investigation, they find an SCR-300 Walkie-Talkie used by Allied forces in WWII. They hear a two-minute segment of military communication over severe static, identifying several words: India, Moon, Dallan, Exeter, Daimonion, Seere, Labolas, Castaigne, and Macallister. The last two words trigger issues of sanity.
Sanity Strain:
Each agent hears a different disturbing conversation at the end of the radio message:
Militia hears his brother and therapist discussing his commitment.
Murdoch hears his ex-wife and her lawyer arranging to stop his access to his daughter.
Marvin hears his wife and their kids’ teacher discussing a story about a “Yellowy King” being submitted to a literary competition.
Desperate Calls:
Agents make frantic calls to their bonds with mixed results.

Rebecca O’Brien from the New York FBI lab calls to report that the evidence has been received, but she is confused by the anomalies: a plane ticket dated 20 years in the future, foul-smelling petrified food, and the fact that power and water were supposedly cut weeks ago, yet lights and utilities seemed operational.

Persuasion:
Agents convince Rebecca that this is standard procedure and that she should proceed with the analysis.
Breaking into Vanfitz’s Apartment:
Timestamp: 1800 Hours
Seeing that Vanfitz has left the building, the agents break into her apartment. They examine her book collection, noting historical non-fiction books about 20th-century wars and pacts that never occurred. Finding little else of immediate importance, they ransack the living room to simulate a break-in. Agent Murdoch particularly enjoys this task.

Before leaving, they discover a red leather bound book with the sign of the yellow king on the front. In side it is inscribed “To Michelle, all the best, Abby”. The agents decide to read the book later.
Encounter with Roger Carun:
Tenant Roger Carun, hearing the noise, opens his door. Questioned about Abigail Wright, he claims not to know her well. It is evident Carun has not left his apartment in some time, with dirty dishes, laundry, and stale sweat odor prevalent. High-end bottled liquors, many half-drunk, are scattered around. Agents Murdoch and Marvin recognize Carun from his sci-fi writing career.
Discovery in Abigail’s Apartment:
Returning to Abigail’s apartment to catalog more evidence, Agent Marvin finds a hand-drawn map on butcher-block paper. The map shows a simplified architectural floor plan of the Macallister Building, with Xs marking each closet. Notes such as “Door on 7/12,” “Roses and butter,” and “Man with briefcase and white shoes” are scrawled next to some closets. Additional doors are drawn near the roof access door, marked “Mr. Castaigne” and “The Parlor.” The map indicates something called the “Night Floors” accessible via Michelle Vanfitz’s apartment or the 3rd floor.
Evening Confrontation:
Timestamp: 1900 Hours
As evening falls, the agents decide to return to Vanfitz’s apartment to confront her about the map. They burst in and are stunned to find the apartment transformed into an incredibly large, airy mahogany room filled with books, tables, and couches. Crystal tumblers, cigars, and cigarettes litter the area, suggesting a recent party. Though the room appears empty, distant conversations and merrymaking can be heard. Windows open onto other bookshelf-filled rooms, seemingly without end.

Encounter with Vanfitz:
They hear a noise from the kitchen, and Michelle Vanfitz walks out and sees them.
[Delta Green Operational Command]
Agents are advised to maintain vigilance and mental resilience. The situation at the Macallister building continues to evolve, necessitating further investigation and careful handling.
The agents are now entangled in a web of personal and professional intrigue, with ties to an esoteric threat symbolised by an ‘other’’, an ‘unnatural’. The integrity of the mission is already compromised by internal and external pressures. Further psychological evaluation and strategic planning are recommended.
