The New JSAUX Docking Station For Steam Deck

*

The good people at JSAUX have been kind enough to send us here at 5DHQ one of their latest products for review purposes. “But just who the are JSAUX”? I hear you ask…… They are an electronics accessories supplier delivering power, data transit, audio/video connectivity and productivity solutions to the market. They persist in independent R&D, complete supply chain management and dedicated customer service. The in-house team is in charge of everything- R&D, manufacturing, marketing, advertising, selling and customer support.

The item in question is the 2nd generation of its Docking Station For Steam Deck, which is now available for pre-order on the official JSAUX website. This new model features three USB 3.0 ports and a brand new Gigabit Ethernet port that will upgrade the user’s experience with Valve’s handheld console in 4K TVs. Shippings for this item began on July 10.

Not only that, but JSAUX kindly included in the package two protective covers for the Steam Deck as well as a couple of brand spanking new screen protectors……they know me and my gaming habits/frustrations/issues so well.

After a successful Gen 1 that was quickly sold out, JSAUX have announced that players can get their hands on both the Gen 1 and the Gen 2. Both products let players enjoy their library in 4K@60Hz on a TV while having the Steam Deck on charge, with access to a variety of ports that allow for multiple add-ons; from external hard drives to an ethernet connection.

The first thing that I noticed after undergoing the suitably respectful unboxing ceremony (in other words, excitedly ripping the cardboard box open with frenzied fingers and scissor-cutting…….what can I say? I like to receive packages in the post) is how robust and sturdy the actual docking station is. There’s no flimsy, cheap plastic/metal feeling to the item here, no, instead it feels like it’s more than up to the knockabout tasks that lie ahead of it.

So let me throw your way some of the specs for the updated Docking Station for Steam Deck
  • 6-in-1 Docking Station for Steam Deck. Equipped with an HDMI 4K@60Hz output, a Gigabit LAN Ethernet input, a USB-C port for charging.
  • It also comes with three USB-A 3.0 ports, letting you explore a new way to play with Steam Deck. What you decide to connect to the ports is obviously your choice, but in my case I went for my monster external hard drive that provides the home for my library of Role Playing Games PDF’s, my magic keyboard charger and my podcasting microphone.
  • The docking port comes with a 4K@60Hz HDMI 2.0 output When it’s connected to an external 4K monitor, it provides a sharper and smoother visual experience, so you can enjoy the visual feast on your games.
  • Full charging speed for your Steam Deck. The JSAUX Steam Deck docking station supports 100W max. power delivery, which is enough power to charge your Steam Deck at full speed (45W) when paired with the original charger.
  • The JSAUX all-in-1 Steam Deck docking station blends hub and stand together perfectly, so you can keep your desktop neat and organised.
  • What ultimately sold me to this product is that it’s also compatible with iPads and Android phones with USB-C ports. So currently my IPad Pro is currently connected to the port and the results have been excellent .Other new accessories for Steam Deck revealed by JSAUX are a special edition of their hard-shell carrying case and a screen protector are sold both as a bundle and separately.

In the main the item is excellent, the one minor quibble would be a preference of the Ethernet input connection to be on the back of the dock rather than on the the side. This could well be a personal obsessive preference of mine so as I said, but a minor issue. Overall I would highly recommend the item and genui9will be making full use of it for the foreseeable future.
