Joining me next week on our YouTube channel is Rob Kerkovich — actor, long-time Glass Cannon Network role-player, and co-creator of the upcoming TTRPG PROCEDURAL!. Whether it’s on screen or around a roleplaying table, Rob brings a sharp wit, cinematic flair, and a clear love for storytelling. From solving fictional crimes to creating entirely new systems to commit them in, Rob’s creative energy is as relentless as a dice-chucking detective on a case. (No, he didn’t pay me to say that).
*
Best known for his acting and hilariously inspired roleplaying on the Glass Cannon Network, Rob has turned his obsession with case-of-the-week TV dramas into a tabletop love letter to cop shows, courtroom clashes, and lab-coated revelations.

*
We’ll be sitting down to ask Rob some essential questions about his upcoming game, his integral part as a player on the Glass Cannon Podcast and of course, his role as Sebastian Lund on NCIS: New Orleans.

PROCEDURAL! – A Crime Drama at the Table
If you’ve ever wanted to roll dice while delivering a dramatic one-liner over a crime scene, then Rob Kerkovich’s new TTRPG PROCEDURAL! might just be the game you didn’t know you needed.
*
The tabletop role-playing landscape could be gaining a distinctive new addition in PROCEDURAL!, released from Occupied Hex Games, created by Andrew Orvedahl and Rob Kerkovich. Drawing inspiration from long-running television crime dramas, the game invites up to four players to take on the roles of investigators, working collaboratively to solve cases in a way that captures the pacing and atmosphere of the genre.
*
The project recently concluded a very successful Kickstarter campaign, raising $17,390 against an initial goal of $2,300. The level of support reflects both the strong interest in narrative-driven role-play and the enduring appeal of the crime procedural format.

How the Game Works
The experience mirrors the familiar rhythm of television episodes: the introduction of a crime, the pursuit of leads, the interrogation of suspects, and ultimately the unveiling of the truth. This framework allows for improvisation, ensuring that no two sessions are alike, while also keeping the drama focused and recognisable.
*
If you want to see the game in action, Rob & Andrew played a case with some of the Glass Cannon Network folks and you can watch from character creation through the first act and a bit of B-story. We didn’t want to spoil the end of the case for you, but– they botched it. (This video contains Rated R language)

The Creative Team
The pedigree of the designers is also a point of note. Rob Kerkovich is best known to television audiences for his role in NCIS: New Orleans, while Andrew Orvedahl brings a background in comedy and writing. Together, they have blended performance, storytelling, and game design to produce a system that is both accessible and engaging.
*
Looking Ahead
With the crowdfunding campaign complete, backers will soon have the opportunity to begin playing. For others, it is likely only a matter of time before PROCEDURAL! becomes more widely available.
For those with an interest in both tabletop role-playing and television crime drama, this title offers a promising bridge between the two mediums, and a novel way to step into the shoes of investigators without ever leaving the table.
*
Whether you’re a tabletop veteran or just someone who yells “enhance!” at their screen during every crime drama, PROCEDURAL! promises a blend of narrative structure and dramatic flair that we can’t wait to get our hands on. (And yes, that was a hint Rob Kerkovich to review the game and goodies!).

*
Whether he’s unravelling cosmic conspiracies, crafting iconic characters, or breaking the fourth wall mid-investigation, Rob Kerkovich has carved out a cult following on the Glass Cannon Podcast. With a unique blend of theatrical flair and tabletop chaos, Rob brings something special to every dice roll. I will be asking some questions to dig deeper into his GCP experience — the drama, the dice, and everything in between. In particular, I’m hoping to dig deeper into the incredible Call Of Chulhu ‘Time for Chaos’ S3 from Glass Cannon.
*
Before he was rolling nat 20s on the Glass Cannon Podcast or designing his own TTRPG, Rob was already a familiar face to millions as Forensic Specialist Sebastian Lund on NCIS: New Orleans. Equal parts brainy, awkward, and utterly endearing, Sebastian quickly became a fan-favourite on the hit procedural.
*

*
Rob Kerkovich’s time as Sebastian Lund added a much-needed dose of heart and nerdy humour to the NCIS franchise. Equal parts forensic whiz and reluctant action hero, his performance left an indelible mark on primetime television — and proved once and for all that smart is the new cool (lab coat optional.)

So what was it like stepping into the world of federal investigations, Southern charm, and crime scene banter? We’ll find out when we speak in a few days.
