The 5D Podcast in now available on Spotify
Picture the scene………
It’s the near future and the last secluded tribe has been located deep within the confines of the Amazonian rainforest. The tribe has lived outside of civilisation for centuries without any contact or knowledge of the outside world. They have kept their culture and beliefs completely intact and have no interest in what lies beyond their village. Upon discovery by explorers attempts are made to communicate with the tribe using basic language, signs and pictures…….but to no avail.
After days and days of failed attempts the explorers are at their wit’s end, nothing has worked. In fact, if anything, the tribe seems to become more and more disinterested in the presence of the newcomers until…… One of the explorers, let us call him ‘the one with exquisite taste’, in a moment of private relaxation begins listening on his mobile device to his favourite sci-fi, fantasy and horror Podcast. In the opinion of ‘the one with exquisite taste’ this is perhaps the finest Podcast on the planet (his words, not mine I assure you).
As soon as the stunning intro music starts (written by the fabulously talented Werewolves in Siberia) and the witty, insightful and quite frankly unbelievably good banter begins between Stuart and Zack there is pandemonium in the rainforest. The tribe become transfixed by perhaps the finest Podcast on the planet (their words, not mine) and hold the poor explorer (You know, the one with exquisite taste) hostage as they chant softly “5D……….5D………..5D” until he relents and plays them the previous 40-odd superlative (their words, not mine) episodes of the show.
Soon the tribe have transformed from a secluded simple society into a Walking Dead, Punisher, Star Wars loving collective who ape the characteristics of the two podcast hosts…….. you know, dashingly handsome, charismatic and eminently knowledgeable (my words entirely). They will never be the same ever again as they change their tribal name to the 5D Podcast affiliate. They only agree to let the intrepid explorers leave if they arrange to have their area of the Amazonian rainforest gain access to high-speed broadband and wi-fi so that they can worship each weekly edition of the 5D Podcast. Now I call THAT progress!
Please note that some elements of the above story have been changed to protect the identity of those involved. The rumour that the story is entirely made up have yet to be proven in a court of law.
The 5D Podcast affiliate deep in the Amazon rainforest will be delighted then to learn that as well as our other sources (ITunes, YouTube, Tunein, and Stitcher) the podcast can can be accessed via Spotify!! So now there really is even less chance of escaping our weekly musings and warblings about the world of sci-fi, fantasy and horror……..
