PRESS RELEASE

A group of magicians from the north east of Scotland has scooped a top magic prize, as voted for by magic fans across the UK.
Four Magicians has been named the best UK magic show by readers of Magic Seats, a website featuring the latest magic news and reviews from across the country.

With over 1,000 votes cast in the 2024 Magic Seats Recognition Awards, Four Magicians gained 55% of the nods for the Readers’ Award. The show faced stiff competition from 15 other nominees, including Las Vegas headliners Penn & Teller, Britain’s Got Talent winner Richard Jones, and TV stars Pete Firman and Ali Cook.
Magician Eoin Smith said: “The response to Four Magicians has been fantastic, and we’re thrilled that audiences are connecting with the show in the way they are.
“Winning this award is extra special, as it’s voted for by audiences – meaning that the people who came to see us felt we were worthy of their vote.”

Four Magicians stars a quartet of award-winning magical entertainers from Aberdeen: Smith & Burns (aka Ivor Smith and Jeff Burns of Fifth Dimension), Eoin Smith and James Dickson.
The show has toured venues across the north of Scotland throughout 2024, including selling out a homecoming performance in the Lemon Tree in October. But that is just the beginning of the group’s plans for the show.

Jeff Burns added: “Our 2024 tour across the north of Scotland has taken us to some fantastic venues and allowed us to perform for some wonderful audiences.
“But we’re not ones to rest on our laurels: we’re already planning more shows across the country for next year and look forward to sharing details soon. This is just the beginning for Four Magicians!”

In Four Magicians, four of Scotland’s leading magicians come together for an evening like no other – minds are read, laws of nature are defied and dad jokes are told.
Award-winning magicians Smith & Burns, Eoin Smith and James Dickson take to the stage together in an ensemble magic show that’s packed full of jaw-dropping sleight of hand, incredible feats of illusion and a generous helping of comedy.
About Smith & Burns
Fifth Dimension’s Smith & Burns are Ivor Smith and Jeff Burns. Their magic has taken them around the world – from Singapore to Las Vegas and Hollywood’s famous Magic Castle. Entertaining at corporate and private events, they captivate and inspire audiences. Combining humour, sleight of hand, mind reading, illusion and lots of audience participation, they bring their unique form of madness to the stage with style, sophistication and the occasional hiccup. They are also world-renowned presenters delivering magical keynote speeches on safety, leadership and working together at high profile business events and conferences.
About Eoin Smith
Eoin Smith is a multi-award-winning magician based in the north east of Scotland. Everyday items become objects of wonder in Eoin’s hands, in an act packed with original magic, quirky humour, mind reading and demonstrations of skills that cannot be explained. Eoin’s performances have taken him across Scotland to five-star hotels, comedy and cabaret clubs, and beyond – including the stage of the Tivoli Theatre, Aberdeen. He appeared twice on Live at Captain Tom’s – a live online TV show – as the only non-musical act in the show’s history.
About James Dickson
James is a designer of magic. Everything he performs has been created or developed by him. His interest in magic goes beyond traditional performance and he seeks to turn impossibility into art. Beyond magic, James writes short comedic songs and creates hand-drawn artwork (all with varying degrees of appropriateness). In performance, he combines his creative passions to deliver his own unique style.
