I have good and bad news for the good people of Scotland and beyond (if there is such a thing as ’beyond’). The upcoming Aberdeen HorrorCon 2022 on the 30th October had practically sold out nearly two months ago. Now, that in itself is good news for you, but even better news for you is that I won’t be able to make this one in my usual cosplay of ’clueless Press guy’. However there is also bad news for you in that the 5D Pop Culture Website has just received press passes for the re-branded HorrorCon Scotland 2023.

The early bird tickets for the public are already available for what has been promised to be an even bigger event that the one taking place this month, for a starter the whole of Aberdeen’s iconic Beach Ballroom has been booked for Saturday 21st October 2023.

Few details have been released as yet, but this I know; the whole of the Beach Ballroom will be given over to we horror nerds, with one bar showing horror films all day (some of which are hoped to be Scottish made movies), the other bar will be selling food and drink. The news that I will be found occasionally at one of these things they call ’bars’ clutching a glass of something alcoholic are just vile rumours based upon nothing more than facts and will be passed on to my legal team at the earliest opportunity.

In addition there are plans for the stage to host burlesque and comedy performances while the main hall will feature all manner of traders, vendors and panels together with a cosplay competition. The upstairs area will feature assorted cosplay groups……. did someone say Ghostbusters & Colonial Marines? hmm.

The organisers are currently in the process of planning next year’s guest line-up, so stay tuned here for upcoming information.
