Slav Borg – Post-Soviet Semi-Fantasy Role-Playing Game

*

In SLAV BORG, cunning, speed, and covertness reign supreme. You will traverse the borderland with your goblin crew, outmaneuver orcs in illegal (and fixed) street races, and try to put the brakes on the sleaziest necromancer on this side of the Eastern Bloc.

*

The game can be played in three different modes. SLAV BORG’s main RPG campaign will throw you right in the middle of the Realm of Zgol, where you will try to carve out your own skid by leveling your crew, upgrading your vehicles, and burning rubber across multiple story chapters. The stakes, along with the players’ death count, escalate even further in SLAV BORG’s second play mode: one-shot adventures. Finally, there’s the roguelike mode, where each run is randomized with new locations, events, and scenarios.

*

Using the classic framework of sword and sorcery, we’re telling our SLAV BORG tales against the real-world backdrop of the social and economic struggles of the Polish-German-Czech borderland. This way, we want to craft a fantasy world that mirrors the reality that shaped us – with one of Europe’s biggest coal mines on one side, and rampant crime and lawlessness on the other. Welcome to the Realm of Zgol.

*

Plagued by the curse of the Necromancer, Zgol’s creed is one of greed and speed. As the coal mine is breaking bones and poisoning the lungs of the locals, the realm is locked in a constant power struggle. From deceitful smugglers to violent Yoomaks, everyone wants a piece of Zgol. Everyone, except for the Green Folk: goblins, hobgoblins, and other citizens who strive to live their lives in peace. Seems like mercenaries are their only hope.

But the wheels-for-hire have their own goals, too. While some of them are willing to assist the Folk in restoring normality to the realm (if the price is right, that is), others crave nothing more than money and entertainment – the more depraved, the better. And in this accursed land, they will find it galore.

*

Now it’s your turn to peek under the hood of Zgol’s fast and deadly rides, explore the realm’s concrete dungeons, and traverse the wild backwoods that surround it. Just know that no matter how fast your wheels spin, you don’t have much time. The Necromancer is getting closer.
