Twilight 2000: Expanding the Black Madonna

*

Welcome readers to this fan-written expansion for The Black Madonna. The original first edition module was exceptional, and the updated fourth edition only enhanced its quality. This booklet aspires to maintain that high standard while introducing additional complications and avenues for exploration.

Given the significant role religion plays in the module—a reflection of its importance in Polish culture—the author felt that introducing rules for creating priests and military chaplains would make for interesting player characters. This idea led to the creation of several new factions to capitalize on these additions. Additionally, inspired by the (initially humorous) trend of people listing their religion as “Jedi,” the author crafted a fun NPC to incorporate this concept.

While reading the original book, the author noticed references to various vehicles that were not included in the rules. To address this, the author included the statistics for these vehicles and, in the process, took the opportunity to add extra variants, including the fictional FV55 Crimea. Since some of these vehicles used reactive armor, the author decided it would be helpful to reproduce the rules for special armor, originally written for the Cold War Goes Hot v2.1 magazine.

Where possible, the writer used their own photographs for illustrations. When that was not feasible, public domain images were the next choice. However, in cases where suitable images could not be found, the author resorted to AI-generated images. While this decision may disappoint some readers, the author, as a lone writer with very limited resources, felt it was necessary to achieve the desired standard of illustration.
