We can’t tell you how excited we are at 5D to find out about this new update of a bone fide role-playing classic! Space: 1889 is an RPG combines elements of Victorian-era science fiction and alternate history. It was originally created by Frank Chadwick and first published in 1988 by Game Designers’ Workshop. The game is set in a universe where the scientific principles of the late 19th century, as understood during the Victorian era, are true, and space travel has become possible through the discovery of ether, a mysterious substance that allows ships to travel through the solar system.
Everything H.G. Wells should have written….

*

Everything A. Conan Doyle thought but never published because it was too fantastic!

*

Space 1889: After is the next iteration of Space 1889—the popular steampunk tabletop game—with new rules, new possibilities, and new stories to tell.

The Victorian Age in Space 1889 was marked by astounding discoveries that opened the strange, inhabited worlds of Mars and Venus to exploration and colonization. Space 1889: After takes place ten years later, after war and disaster separated the worlds for a time. Now, adventurers must risk the perils of space to explore other worlds and fight new enemies that lurk in the ether.

*

If you find the steampunk setting compelling, but are uncertain about learning the Empyrean ruleset, we’ve got you covered! Space 1889: After is available for the fifth edition of the most popular game system in the world.

*

The converted rules for ether-fliers, sky galleons, and aerial gunboats are compatible with any space-faring 5th edition game, and the Space 1889: After setting itself is a potential destination for any spell mishap or astral plane excursion.

*

Cannons, weird science, and boarding actions beckon!

Space 1889: After – 5e is available now here at DriveThruRPG
