Welcome to the latest ’5D Pop Culture Website Pick Of The Week Award’, the opportunity to share something in the world of Pop Culture (usually, but not exclusively RPG-related). This week’s choice falls well and truly within of the RPG universe and will shortly be on my own ’to buy’ list on the Dungeon Masters Guild link below.

*

And while the ’5D Pop Culture Website Pick Of The Week Award’ may not be; a) The most prestigious award in the TTRPG community, or b) A snappy, concise award title – well, it will be something we take rather seriously at 5DHQ as we fastidiously wade through the plethora of weekly releases.

*

And while there may be no review, or even more importantly, no prize, there is the knowledge that the winner has our undying love and adoration…..though not in a creepy way, obviously.

Finally, it is time to go forth, Into The Shadowlands!

As well as a new method for categorizing armor types, 79 new spells, alternative arcane mishap tables, a list of spellcasting house rules, bonus house rules, mechanics for exhaustiontemporary hit points, and corruption, and a small list of diseases.

*

Shadowdark RPG was brilliantly designed with clarity, brevity, and a massive amount of skill. My goal for this supplement was to expand upon what the Arcane Library masterfully created and make it even easier for those shifting over to the OSR from 5e. Some classes such as the barbarian, paladin, and warlock have familair abilities and playstyles to their 5e versions but with their own Shadowdark twist.

*

Each class was carefully designed over MANY iterations to find that sweet spot. Additionally, I applied the same care and attention to detail when designing all 79 spells in this document. With that said, I hope you enjoy these additional rules as much as I did designing and playtesting them.

*

Please note that I will be updating this document with patches/tweaks as further playtesting continues. As of right now (7/28/23), this is the most stable version of Into the Shadowlands my group is using at the table.
